10 Most Dangerous Intersections in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
Over 37,000 people die in road crashes each year. An additional 2.35 million are injured or disabled, according to the Association for Safe International Road Travel. Closer to home, the Keystone State is certainly no stranger to its fair share of accidents—most which are a result of driver error. Last year, nearly 11,000 people lost their lives behind the wheel. In 2016, 1 out of every 154 people was injured in a reportable traffic crash.
While the numbers appear grim, there is a silver lining. Of the total people involved in crashes in Pennsylvania in 2016, most were not injured. The 1,188 fatalities in 2016 also represent the lowest number of fatalities in Pennsylvania motor vehicle crashes over the last 86 years.
